Best temperature for dabs: low vs. high heat
There is no universal perfect number. The useful goal is to find the lowest setting that fully vaporizes your concentrate without leaving a large puddle or producing an unnecessarily harsh hit.
The temperature chart
This chart is a practical starting guide for temperature-controlled e-rigs. A displayed setting does not always equal the exact temperature at the concentrate surface. Traditional quartz rigs also cool continuously after the torch is removed.

Low, medium, and high heat in plain language
Lower temperature
Lower heat generally produces lighter vapor and makes subtle aroma easier to notice. It can also feel less hot, but inhaling cannabis aerosol still carries health risks.
A setting is probably too low if most of the dab remains liquid after a normal cycle and repeated reheating makes the session less predictable.
Medium temperature
A middle setting is usually the easiest place to begin. It often vaporizes a small dab in one controlled cycle while preserving more flavor than the highest preset.
Change only one variable at a time: temperature, dab size, cycle length, or airflow.
Higher temperature
Higher heat produces vapor faster and can create a denser cloud. It can also increase coughing, flatten flavor, and bake residue onto quartz or ceramic.
More visible vapor does not prove that a session is safer, cleaner, or more effective.

Surface temperature

Dab size
A large dab absorbs more heat and may cool a chamber quickly. Starting with a small amount makes temperature changes easier to judge.
Airflow and timing
Hard inhalation can cool the chamber and pull material into the airway. Long heat cycles can keep cooking residue after the flavorful portion is gone.
