Why does my bowl keep going out?
A bowl that will not stay lit usually has an airflow, grind, packing or moisture problem. Use the checker to narrow it down.
Short answer: The most common causes are flower packed too tightly, a grind that is too fine or too chunky, damp flower, a clogged airway or uneven lighting. Cannabis does not need to burn continuously like a cigarette, but it should draw without feeling blocked.
Why does it keep going out?
Only check a bowl when the glass is cool. Never touch hot glass or use plastic near a hot bowl.

Check the grind
Use an even medium texture. Remove obvious stems and avoid grinding flower into powder.
Check the pack
Fill evenly and press very lightly. If an unlit draw feels restricted, loosen the flower before lighting.
Check the piece
Let it cool, then inspect the opening and airway for resin or ash buildup. Clean it before adding more flower.
Staying lit is not the goal by itself
A bowl going out between draws can reduce unnecessary smoke. The useful target is open airflow and an even burn when you choose to draw, not continuous combustion.

Is it normal for a bowl to go out between hits?

No. Pulling harder can draw ash or hot material into the piece. Stop, let everything cool and clear the restriction safely.
